The NFL has got itself in a new controversy after releasing an all-Spanish teaser for Bad Bunny’s upcoming Super Bowl halftime show. The 75-second video was posted on Friday and quickly got a lot of strong reactions from fans.

The teaser, posted on the NFL’s official social media accounts, showed Bad Bunny dancing to his song “BAILE INoLVIDABLE.” The caption read, “El 8 de febrero, el mundo bailará,” which means “On February 8, the world will dance.” The Super Bowl will be held next month in San Francisco.

Basically, all these issues started when the NFL announced Bad Bunny as the halftime performer.

President Donald Trump openly criticized the choice and called it “crazy” and “absolutely ridiculous” in comments to Newsmax. “I’ve never heard of him,” Trump said. “I don’t know who he is. I don’t know why they’re doing it.”

Several others said they would skip the halftime show or take a “bathroom break” instead.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell defended the decision back in November. Speaking at league meetings, he said the league chose Bad Bunny because of his global popularity. “He’s one of the leading and most popular artists in the world,” Goodell said. “That’s what we try to achieve.”

The NFL worked with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation to select the performer. Jay-Z also pushed back on the criticism last year. “Don’t let them fool you,” he said, without expanding further.

Trump ally Corey Lewandowski took a harsher stance. He claimed the choice felt “shameful” and said Bad Bunny “seems to hate America.” Lewandowski also confirmed that ICE agents will patrol San Francisco during Super Bowl week. “There is nowhere you can provide safe haven,” he said.

Bad Bunny has addressed critics before. While hosting “Saturday Night Live” in October, he joked about the backlash. “I think everyone is happy about it, even Fox News,” he said, before playing a satirical edited clip.

He later switched to Spanish and spoke directly to Latino fans. “It’s a win for all of us,” he said. “No one will ever erase our contribution in this country.”

Despite the anger online, the NFL appears set to move forward. The league has not responded further to the latest hate over the teaser.
