Female Sports Reporter Fired By USA Today After Calling Out Dianna Russini & Admitting To Sexual Relations With QB

Be careful what you say.

A popular NFL reporter has been fired over her X/Twitter message to Dianna Russini, who resigned from The Athletic on Tuesday.

One week after photos surfaced of Dianna Russini hanging out with New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel, the 43-year-old NFL insider announced her resignation from The Athletic.

The photos, taken on March 28, showed Vrabel and Russini holding hands, hugging and hanging out by a pool at an adults-only hotel in Sedona, Arizona.

After Russini posted her resignation letter, USA Today NFL reporter Crissy Froyd called her out with a scathing message on X.

Froyd wrote, “I’m sure you were told to submit this or that you’d get fired instead. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. We know who you really are and what you’ve been up to for years. It does so much detriment to women in sports who have done things the right way..”

In another statement to The Daily Caller, Froyd indicated that Dianna Russini has hooked up with married NFL coaches during her career. Froyd also admitted to having a sexual relationship with former college quarterback JT Daniels:

Unfortunately for Froyd, these scathing comments have put her back to the unemployment line.

On Thursday, USA Today announced that they have ended their working relationship with Froyd, citing the violation of their “principles of ethical conduct.”

According to her LinkedIn account, Froyd had been with USA Today since 2015. She previously worked at SB Nation.

In her resignation letter, Russini noted that her contract with The Athletic was set to expire on June 30. Obviously, it’s anybody’s guess if the website was planning to extend her contract before the controversy with Vrabel.

Before joining the website in 2023, Russini worked for ESPN from 2015 to 2023, and preiously for NBC News. She emerged as one of the NFL’s premier insiders during her tenure with the Worldwide Leader in Sports.

Now, it’s anybody’s guess where things go from here with Russini. Her career body of work speaks for itself. But there’s gonna be a lot of backlash toward another company if they hire her right away.
