There Are Calls For California To Be Banned From Hosting Any Future Super Bowls After Disturbing Truth Uncovered
California has become an uncomfortable place for some…
A former NFL MVP expressed his frustrations with California hosting the Super Bowl after learning crazy details about Super Bowl 60. The Seattle Seahawks beat the New England Patriots, 29-13, on Sunday to secure their second Super Bowl title.

While it was a sweet victory for the NFC West champions, it literally came at a high price. Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold took a huge win, as he proved doubters wrong and became a Super Bowl champion. On the other hand, he left Levi’s Stadium poorer due to California laws. He will owe the state more than he earned for playing in the big game.
According to Sportico, Darnold will pay $249,000 to California, which is more than the $178,000 he secured for winning the game. Pro athletes who don’t live in California are required to pay percentages of their yearly income based on the number of days they work in the state.
Darnold and Co. spent eight days in San Francisco, which counted as “duty days.” That number will get higher, as he will have to spend more time in California during the 2026 NFL season.
Boomer Esiason Says The NFLPA Should Force The League To Stop Playing Super Bowls in California

During an appearance on WFAN this week, former NFL MVP Boomer Esiason criticized the tax rate in California. He noted that Darnold, as part of the NFC West, will visit California at least twice a year for the foreseeable future.
“Now if I’m the NFLPA, now you got to remember, it’s probably even more than that, because since he’s in Seattle, he’s playing against San Francisco 49ers, so, that’s another day he’s there,” Esiason said. “And he’s playing against the LA Rams, that’s another day he’s there. So, he’s probably had like nine or 10 duty days or maybe even more than that in the state of California.
“So, if I’m the NFLPA, I’m like, ‘Hey, we’re not playing any more Super Bowls in California,’ we’re just not doing it…If I’m the NFL Players Association, I’m saying, ‘we’re never going back to California.’ This is ridiculous.”
