Resurfaced Footage From 1978 Shows CBS Commentators Making Wildly Inappropriate Comments About Washington Redskins Cheerleaders & Their Skimpy Outfits [VIDEO]

An old clip of CBS Sports commentators discussing NFL cheerleaders from a 1978 Washington Redskins has resurfaced online and gone viral.

The commentators in question openly admired the scantily-clad women while they prepared for their routine on the sideline, with one of them observing that the “Redskinette’s have new uniforms.”

“I like it,” the other replied, to which his partner said, “Thought you might.”

“Nothing wrong with s*x and football,” one of them was heard saying.

“CBS sports commentators were admiring the cheerleader uniforms during a Redskins game in 1978 and its about what you would expect in 1978,” the caption to the video reads.

The 70’s were a massively different era. Such comments were commonplace, and no one would have been cancelled over them.

Should a commentator say something like this today, be it at CBS Sports or any other network, it would mark his final day of work. And that’s provided he would be allowed to finish covering the game.

Simply put, this is not flying in the 2020s. But NFL cheerleaders are still talking points in today’s game, whether it be for refusal to wear a bra or transgender controversy – of course, not among commentators.

As expected, the post drew numerous comments. It was viewed over a million times, after all.

While fans think this is great, today’s announcers shouldn’t get any ideas.
