Adam Schefter Is Going At Mike Florio On Social Media After Being Accused Of Shady Reporting At The NFL Combine

ESPN insider Adam Schefter didn’t hold back after another NFL reporter questioned his report on Ohio State Buckeyes’ Carnell Tate. After Tate ran a 4.52 in the 40-yard dash, Schefter reported something different.

On Sunday, he wrote on X that several teams had clocked his time lower than the NFL’s official listing.

“Ohio State WR Carnell Tate, a potential top 10 pick, was timed by several NFL executives and GMs on Saturday with a 40 time in the range of 4.45-4.47 seconds,” Schefter reported.

On Wednesday, Mike Florio of ProFootball Talk agreed with the people criticizing Schefter. He noted that the official time was more reliable than a person clicking a button twice (once to start the clock and once to stop it).

Florio added that many thought Schefter tried to do a favor to Carnell Tate’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus. Then, he offered his thoughts.

“Did Schefter canvass multiple teams for their numbers, or did he simply copy and paste a text from Rosenhaus? Given the way the insider sausage gets made, the far safer bet is the latter,” Florio wrote.

Less than 20 minutes after Mike Florio’s report, Adam Schefter brought up the receipts to prove the NBC Sports analyst wrong. He showed a series of screenshots of scouts saying they clocked Tate at 4.4 high. He did so while sending a clear message to Florio.
