The DK Metcalf-Ryan Kennedy saga took another bizarre turn Friday. That Lions fan involved in an altercation with the Steelers receiver held a press conference. He wanted to deny using any offensive language or racial slurs.

The NFL suspended Metcalf for the Steelers’ final two regular-season games. His appeal was denied. He also cost himself as much as $45 million in guarantees as a result.

Metcalf reportedly told Chad Ochocinco that the fan used racial slurs against him and said something about his mom. “I got word — obviously. I’m not condoning putting your hands on a fan or punching a fan. But he did call him a racial slur,” Johnson said on ‘Night Cap.

More footage shows the fan yelling, “DeKaylin Zecharius Metcalf, which is his real name. That is when Metcalf comes over and assaults him.

Just when you thought the situation would die out, another wrinkle has been added. An alleged nephew of the Lions fan is making startling claims. He says his uncle has been trolling DK Metcalf for years and wanted to be attacked.

The NFL and the Detroit Lions are continuing to investigate the situation involving a Lions fan and DK Metcalf.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the league is interested in pursuing the matter. That is because of what Metcalf told them during Tuesday’s appeal hearing for his two-game suspension. The investigation will focus on whether the fan violated the Lions’ guest code of conduct.

Metcalf told former NFL players James Harrison and Chad Johnson that Ryan Kennedy had used a racial slur. It is unknown what he told the league further.

Video after Sunday’s incident appeared to show Kennedy saying, “That was the goal, folks.” That seems to align with what his alleged nephew had to say about his behavior.

It appears the suspension and press conference might not be the end of the drama. A lawsuit could be coming.
