JAKE PAUL has made a big mistake by imposing a major restriction on Anthony Joshua, Joe Rogan has claimed.

The Problem Child locks horns with the former two-time heavyweight champion in a shock Miami melee on December 19.

Paul, 28, will give up serious weight for the first time in his carefully orchestrated boxing career in his clash with AJ, who won’t be permitted to weigh more than 245lbs.

But UFC commentator Rogan reckons the clause will backfire on the YouTuber as it means Joshua will do additional cardio and therefore be in better shape to ensure he doesn’t miss weight.

During the latest episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, he said of the weight restriction: “That’s nothing.

“And there is some sort of a rehydration clause. Listen kids, it ain’t gonna matter.

“There’s not a chance that Anthony Joshua is not going to lose the weight beforehand. He’s not gonna come in drained.

“What he’s gonna do is he’s gonna do extra cardio. And that’s gonna make him more dangerous.”

AJ’s short-notice showdown with Paul will be his first outing since he was demolished by Daniel Dubois in their Wembley war last September.

And Rogan reckons the Watford warrior will have a serious axe to grind when he trades heavy leather with Paul.

AJ promoter Eddie Hearn recently claimed the weight restriction imposed on Joshua was the result of Paul and his team wanting the 36-year-old to be at some sort of “disadvantage” in the fight before he signed on the dotted line.

He told BBC Radio 5 Live: “I spoke to [Joshua] and he was sitting at 265 pounds or something like that.

“I think I told Nakisa that he was 290 pounds or something like that.

He’s gonna do extra cardio. And that’s gonna make him more dangerous

“I asked if it was 10 rounds or eight rounds, they said fine to eight.

“They said: ‘The only thing is that Jake will weigh about 220 pounds and we want AJ to come down in weight.’
