One of the Air Canada Pilots Killed in Horrific LaGuardia Crash Has Been Identified [PHOTO]

What a terrible situation.

One of the pilots who perished in the Air Canada crash at LaGuardia Airport in New York on Sunday has been identified.

The jet, carrying over 70 passengers, hit a fire truck while landing on the tarmac late Sunday. A pilot was killed, and several other people sustained injuries.

A flight attendant was reportedly flung 330 feet from the aircraft despite being strapped to her seat, but miraculously survived, per TVA Nouvelles.

Air Traffic Control had given the fire truck permission to cross the tarmac to check on another plane. But moments later, a controller was heard frantically telling it to stop.

“Stop, stop, stop, Truck 1. Stop, stop, stop,” he said over the transmission.

He repeated, “Stop, Truck 1,” but to no avail.

The controller later blamed himself. “We were dealing with an emergency earlier,” he said. “I messed up.”

Kathryn Garcia, executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, said the truck was moving across the runway to attend to a United Airlines flight. The pilot had reported an issue with a door.

The deceased pilot has been identified as Antoine Forest.

The flight attendant’s daughter told TVA Nouvelles she suffered a broken leg, which will require surgery, but was fine otherwise.

“It’s nothing short of a miracle,” she said.

President Donald Trump addressed the fatal incident on Monday.

“They made a mistake. It’s a dangerous business. That’s terrible,” he said.

Authorities canceled operations at the airport until early Monday afternoon, with thousands of passengers left in limbo, exacerbating a previously existing problem, with the Department of Homeland Security having been affected by the partial government shutdown.

According to TVA Nouvelles, the 30-year-old Forest hails from Coteau-du-Lac, Quebec, and had been working as a CRJ First Officer with Jazz Aviation since December 2022.

Reports also note that 41 people were hospitalized.
