7-Time Super Bowl Champion Dies Tragically – NFL World in Mourning
The league has lost an all-time great player.
Longtime NFL executive Neal Dahlen has passed away at the age of 85. Broncos. Dahlen is known for his success in building championship teams, having won seven Super Bowls.
He won so many championships that he is tied with Tom Brady for the second-most in NFL history. He held the record alone for the most Super Bowl titles for an individual until Belichick and the Patriots won Super Bowl LI in 2017.
The longtime executive of the San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos passed away peacefully while surrounded by family, while in hospice care at his Aurora home on Sunday night.

All Neal Dahlen knew was how to win championships. Dahlen won seven Super Bowl titles during his career as an NFL executive. This came when serving with the San Francisco 49ers (five titles) and the Denver Broncos (two titles).
He was part of the 49ers’ dynasty from 1979 to 1996 and the Broncos’ championship teams in the late 1990s.

Former 49ers safety Terrance “Chet” Brooks was on one of those teams that won a title. He sadly passed away less than a month ago at the age of 60.
Neal Dahlen finished his career as the Broncos’ director of football administration. “I attribute my good fortune to three key elements: Joe Montana, Steve Young, and John Elway,” Dahlen told Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times in 2018.
The California native was also a collegiate quarterback and earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from San Jose State.
Dahlen and his first wife, Nancy, had four children: Laurie, Sherri, Christy, and Tim. After Nancy died, Dahlen remarried Catherine. Many prayers to his family as they navigate through this difficult time.
