President Donald Trump treated the U.S. men’s Olympic ice hockey team to fast food during their White House visit.

On Tuesday, Donald Trump welcomed the U.S. men’s hockey team to the White House after their gold medal triumph at the Winter Olympics. Most of the players also attended Tuesday’s State of the Union address, where Trump announced that USA goalie Connor Hellebuyck would get the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Five players from Team USA were unable to make the trip to Washington: Brock Nelson, Jake Guentzel, Jackson LaCombe, Jake Oettinger and Kyle Connor.
So, what was the meal of the day for Team USA after meeting with the president worth billions of dollars? Oh, you know, just a nice spread of fast food, including McDonald’s double cheeseburgers:
Can’t blame the players for expecting something more lavish like caviar, steak or lobster. But a free meal is a free meal, we suppose.

During the call, Trump made an insulting joke about having to invite the women’s team to the White House. The U.S. women’s team also captured Olympic gold, defeating Team Canada 2-1 in overtime.

Trump’s joke prompted laughter from some players, and they have since received widespread criticism on social media. After the women’s team turned down Trump’s invitation to the White House, legendary rapper Flavor Flav issued an offer to celebrate their triumph in Las Vegas.
