Caleb Williams has most certainly heard the criticism from Troy Aikman.

Social media was thoroughly convinced that Aikman hated Williams and the Bears after noticing the numerous sketchy comments he produced on Monday Night Football.

In a battle of last year’s top two NFL Draft picks, it was Williams who came out on top as Jake Moody kicked the game-winning field goal to secure a 25-24 victory.

The former No.1 selection threw for 252 yards and had two total touchdowns as he led Chicago to the win inside Northwest Stadium. The moment came almost a year after the heartbreaking Hail Mary loss to Jayden Daniels in 2024.

Multiple times throughout the game, Aikman took shots at Caleb Williams. Despite starting the game 7 out of 10 for 68 yards, Aikman was unimpressed and stated he had been ‘off tonight’ during the first quarter.

After the Bears put themselves in a position to win the game, he then suggested there was some ‘luck’ on the play.

His comments did not sit well with fans or Caleb Williams.

Williams responded to Aikman with a series of pictures from the game in an Instagram post, attributing a quote from Troy Aikman: “It was lucky.”

“Nations Cap good being back! ‘It was lucky’ – TA. Whooptie Doo,” Williams wrote on Instagram with multiple laughing emojis.

Bears head coach Ben Johnson, who caught slack for seemingly cussing out Caleb Williams during the game, also seemed to take a dig at Aikman’s commentary on ESPN Chicago Tuesday, saying, “It sounded like from that game the other night, a few people weren’t particularly pleased with how we are winning right now.”

“I woke up this morning and my kids were watching the second half before school, so I heard some of the commentary. In this league, any way you can find a way to win is a big deal.”

When it is all said and done, Caleb Williams still has his team with a 3-2 record. Despite still being in last place in the NFC North, the victory helped them keep pace in the top-heavy division.
