NHL Reporter and Her 3 Children Killed in Horrific House Fire – Sports World Left Devastated

An unthinkable tragedy.

The NHL community is in mourning following the tragic passing of Minnesota Wild writer Jessi Pierce.

Pierce, an NHL.com correspondent for the team with 10 years on the job, died along with her three children in a house fire this weekend.

FOX 9 in Minnesota reported the death of one adult and three children in a house fire in white Bear Lake on Saturday.

“Arriving firefighters then “found a fully involved structure fire” and tried to suppress it,” their report reads. “Firefighters then found a deceased adult as well as three deceased children inside the house.”

While the outlet did not confirm identities, the NHL and other NHL media personalities have taken to social media to pay tribute.

“Absolutely gutted. Jessi was such a bright, shining light in this media market. Enthusiastic, smart, funny, warm and wholly original,” Jon Krawczynski wrote.


“Words cannot describe the profound loss the hockey world is grappling with this weekend – a cherished colleague and friend in Jessi Pierce, alongside her three beautiful children,” Frank Seravalli shared.


“Yesterday was an absolute nightmare and it hasn’t subsided. Jessi was so much more than just a contributor to us, she was a friend, a super mom, and a wife,” wrote Declan Goff.

“The rink will never be the same without her smile, her humor, and her passion for the game,” Zach Halverson posted.
