College Football Kicker Arrested On Multiple Felony Charges During Spring Break

The situation got out of control.

A new Florida State University place kicker faces serious trouble after getting violent with authorities during a spring break incident in Broward County, Florida.

Police arrested Connor McAneney, a member of the Seminoles football team for the 2026 season, earlier this week. McAneney allegedly became violent with the cops, which turned into something much bigger, resulting in him facing two felony charges.

McAneney, who is Northern Irish, played with Quincy University in Illinois before joining the Seminoles ahead of the 2025 campaign. The arrest took place at 2:30 am on Wednesday after the player trespassed near the beach.

The Fort Lauderdale Police Department said in a statement that McAneney got physical with officers as they attempted to detain him.

“He became uncooperative and violent,” the FLPD said. “He was arrested and charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting with violence and trespassing. McAneney was transported to BHMC as a precaution prior to being booked in the BSO Main Jail.

“McAneney is visiting Fort Lauderdale on Spring Break.”

The player will turn 21 next month. His mugshot showed him with a swollen, bloody lip. He also seemed to have scratches and bruises on his face. Now, Conor McAneney faces two felonies, one count of battery on an officer and one count of resisting an officer. He also faces one misdemeanor charge of trespassing.
