United States President Donald Trump is getting called out after revealing why he won’t attend Super Bowl 60.

Trump attended last year’s Super Bowl, though he dipped out by halftime. The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs rather soundly and, as a result, got to see him at the White House.

The Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, will host this year’s big game. According to the POTUS, that’s too far for him.

He told the New York Post the crowd would applaud him if he did make an appearance. However, the flight is just too long.

“It’s just too far away. I would, I’ve [gotten] great hands [at] the Super Bowl. They like me,” he said. “I would go if, you know, it was a little bit shorter.”

Of course, there’s also the fact that Bad Bunny and Green Day will be performing. Bad Bunny and Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong have been critical of Trump in the past. They are also both liberal performers.

“I don’t know who he is,” Trump said after the NFL selected the Puerto Rican as the Halftime Show act last year. “I don’t know why they’re doing it. It’s crazy. And then they blame it on some promoter they hired to pick up entertainment. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.”

Fans Aren’t Buying Donald Trump’s Explanation

Given the above, some fans aren’t buying his reason for refusing to attend the game.

“It’s simple, Trump doesn’t want to get booed out of the stadium. He’ll stick to NASCAR and UFC,” one commented.

“Boycotting Americans performing at an American event. Because you don’t like your fellow Americans. Is so American,” said another.

“He knows that Green Day and Bad Bunny would deliberately provoke him during the pregame in halftime shows,” one user suggested.

“There’s only so much booing a person can take,” someone else offered.

While he won’t be attending, Trump has made his pick for the upcoming showdown between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks.
