17-Year-Old Chased Through Laundromat by Machete-Wielding Attacker Over San Francisco 49ers Jersey [VIDEO]
A San Francisco 49ers jersey almost caused a tragic situation.
A terrifying moment was caught on camera that involved a man with a machete and a teenager in a San Francisco 49ers jersey.
The moment went down inside a laundromat in Pomona. A maniac swinging a machete chased a teenage laundromat employee. The reason? He demanded that he take off his 49ers jersey. Video of the terrifying encounter shows the suspect coming after the 17-year-old at his father’s business in Pomona, LA County.
“I had a red shirt because the 49ers were playing that day. He came in, saw my shirt and said, ‘Get that effing red off,’” Jacob Hernandez told NBC Los Angeles.
Over the years, we have seen fan bases fight each other over opposing team affiliations. Not many have reached the level where someone pulled out a weapon. When it comes to San Francisco 49ers fans, they are certainly among the more active fighting fans.
In August, a 49ers fan got into a fight over a Kia making contact with a Rolls-Royce. The following month, an argument between fans led to fistfights in the cheap seats at Levi’s Stadium.

Jacob Hernandez just wanted to support his favorite NFL team when it almost led to the end of his life.
Released footage shows the teen scrambling to get away from a man shattering the laundromat’s glass door. It came within inches of striking someone standing at the door. That crazed man was also seen striking a countertop with his machete while dashing around the laundromat and threatening customers inside.

The San Francisco 49ers teenager’s dad told NBC Los Angeles that he heard screams. He quickly ran out and shut the door to his business to keep the suspect out.
“What bothered me the most was that he went after my son,” Phil Hernandez told NBC Los Angeles. “I wasn’t supposed to be here that day, and my son works here alone. I’m not sure how my son or anyone would have handled that.”
Authorities reported no injuries.
