Dave Portnoy Calls Out Aaron Judge After Team USA’s Loss To Venezuela At WBC Finals

Dave Portnoy didn’t mince words about Aaron Judge.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy didn’t hold back on Aaron Judge after the right fielder collapsed against Venezuela in the 2026 World Baseball Classic gold-medal game. Team USA once again struggled to produce, losing 3-2 to the South American team in an emotional game.

Aaron Judge, Team USA’s captain, was one of the most disappointing players on the team on Tuesday. He struck out three times and went 0 for 4 overall against Venezuela’s pitchers. Bryce Harper hit a home run to tie the game 2-2 in the eighth inning before Venezuela reclaimed the lead in the ninth inning.

Many criticized the team’s performance and Judge earned a lot of bad comments, too. Portnoy didn’t mince words and sent a clear message to Judge, the captain of his team’s archrivals.

Even before the game finished, Portnoy took to X to criticize Aaron Judge’s performance. He took the chance to criticize the outfielder and the New York Yankees for Judge’s alarming trends.

“I feel like you can physically see Aaron Judge’s body freeze up in big moments. I wouldn’t wish being a Yankee fan on my worst enemy. Must be infuriating,” Portnoy tweeted.

Team USA lost the WBC championship game for a second consecutive time. Manager Mark DeRosa made questionable decisions during the tournament, and Tuesday’s game wasn’t the exception.
