Fox News viewers have called Jesse Watters a “misogynistic pig” after he said that “single women” were to blame for Zohran Mamdani’s “socialist takeover.”
Mamdani, who calls himself a socialist, won the New York mayoral election on Tuesday, beating former Governor Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa. Mamdani’s victory made him the first Muslim mayor of New York and the youngest mayor in more than 100 years.
Jesse Watters Goes Full Force On Single Women
On Wednesday’s episode of Fox’s The Five, Watters talked about Mamdani’s win and said that women who “haven’t gotten married” were the driving force behind it. Watters went on a tirade: “Let’s talk about these single women. Because they were the force here.”
“You are in an apartment, it’s small, it’s very small and it’s very expensive,” he said. He described the type of woman who voted for the socialist. “And you haven’t gotten married and had kids and moved out to the suburbs like everybody else.”

Comments were lit on Fox’s The Five video clip on X. Comments said:

“Watters is just such an ignorant, simple-minded a-hole. I mean, I’m not necessarily a fan of Mamdani’s, but Watters’ description of single women is just so blatantly incorrect. Maybe he should take his head out of his arse.”
“How can the women on this panel, even Fox women, tolerate this misogynistic pig every single day?”
The Fox News Host Also Blamed The Former NY Governor
Jesse Watters also suggested that the type of New York women who voted for Mamdani “should have gotten a degree in, like, chemistry, biology, finance, or computer science. Something useful in this high-tech AI economy.” The Fox host also said he could see why women voted for Mamdani. “You’re picking a guy,” he said. “Cuomo, who is the laziest person on Earth, is up against a guy in his 30s who goes to clubs and eats kebabs with cab drivers. So you think “This guy’s fun and he’s positive.’” compared to the lazy former Governor.
