Michael Strahan has officially taken his “final walk” through the iconic Good Morning America Times Square studio — a heartfelt farewell that marks the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter for the show.
GMA is moving its longtime home from bustling Times Square to a state-of-the-art broadcast center in Hudson Square, New York City — the same building that houses major ABC and ESPN programs including 20/20, GMA, Live with Kelly and Mark, and more.
Before the crew packed up for the final time, Strahan recorded one last walk around the studio — a quiet, reflective moment filled with nostalgia.
“The final walk at GMA Times Square studio,” he captioned the video, adding, “Time to commute downtown.”
Fans immediately flooded the comments with love and encouragement.
“New beginnings! Can’t wait to see the new studio!!!” one viewer cheered.
“That was great Michael! Onward & upward,” another wrote.
Others added, “Sending love to everyone on GMA,” and “When can I visit the new studio?!”
The brand-new Hudson Square studio made its on-air debut during Monday’s episode, featuring expanded spaces and upgraded equipment.
ABC News chief meteorologist Ginger Zee now has a series of new screens and tools for weather and climate coverage.
There’s also a completely redesigned kitchen set for cooking segments.

Michael Strahan’s NFL Legacy
Today, Strahan is one of television’s most recognizable faces — but his media career began after an extraordinary 14-year run in the NFL.
Playing exclusively for the New York Giants from 1993 to 2007, he earned seven Pro Bowl selections and was instrumental in the team’s legendary 2007 Super Bowl victory — the year they crushed the New England Patriots’ dream of a perfect season.
Strahan led the NFL in sacks twice and was named Defensive Player of the Year. His record-setting 22.5-sack season in 2001 stood unmatched for two decades until J.J. Watt tied it in 2012.
He remains one of football’s most dominant defensive players, closing out his career with 141.5 sacks and 854 tackles.
A New Home — and a New Beginning
The new GMA studio also includes a spacious area for guest interviews and larger live segments. Strahan, Robin Roberts, and George Stephanopoulos now share a massive anchor desk designed for comfort, visibility, and the show’s evolving needs.
On their first day in the new space, the GMA family marked the moment in true Hollywood fashion — imprinting their hands in cement to celebrate the move.
“That was really fun!” Roberts exclaimed.
“Let’s hand it to our producers!” she added with a laugh.
With a new studio underway and Strahan’s emotional final walk behind him, Good Morning America is stepping into its next chapter — while fans watch with excitement, nostalgia, and heartfelt support.
