Boo Carter, who may be Tennessee’s top defensive player, could be on the move, and it has everything to do with what his mother is saying.

The status of the Tennessee Vols’ sophomore defensive back is still up in the air.

Carter reportedly missed numerous team activities and workouts, which upset some of Tennessee’s team leaders last month.

In the meantime, rumors continue to swirl about what exactly is going on with Carter. His mother has seemingly provided that answer.

Boo Carter’s mother has been going on a tirade on Facebook, with some suggesting that she might end up ruining his career.

“But if it was Boo, it would be all over social media,” she wrote in a Facebook post. “I can’t wait to mfn Go! Fast!” she later added.

“MommaBoo6” also wrote about Deion Sanders getting eight players drafted in 2025. She further added, “Never been a Vol fan bruh, I’m a Boo fan.”

Boo Carter’s mom further stated, “They fina hate m ths year!!! Cause IDGAF.”

Losing Boo Carter Would Be Detrimental To The Tennessee Vols

Tennessee defensive back Boo Carter (23) shows off his moves while wearing a Spiderman mask after the win over Kentucky in an NCAA college football game on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, in Knoxville, Tenn.
Boo Carter signed a lucrative NIL deal to play for the Vols last offseason.

Carter earned SEC All-Freshman Team honors as a defensive back and return specialist last year. He played in all 13 of Tennessee’s games and started five on defense.

He would total 38 tackles — the sixth-most on the team — along with three tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, and three quarterback hurries.

Carter would also lead the SEC with a 16.5-yard average on punt returns, with six of his 12 returns going for 20 yards or more. He is the total package type of a player.

Losing Carter would crush the program.
