Terence Crawford Explains Why He Was Stripped of WBC Title in X-Rated Rant

Terence Crawford unleashed an explosive outburst aimed at WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman.

Terence Crawford has torn into the WBC and the governing body’s president Mauricio Sulaiman after being stripped of the green and gold world title in a profanity-filled outburst.

Crawford was stripped of the WBC super-middleweight world title after a dispute over unpaid sanctioning fees.

He had won the belt after beating Canelo Alvarez in September.

The 38-year-old, however, is still in possession of the WBA (super), IBF, WBO and The Ring super-middleweight titles.

The WBC title has put Britain’s Hamzah Sheeraz in line to compete for the vacant championship against interim title holder Christian Mbilli.

In a statement, the WBC said Crawford had not paid its required fees from his fight against Canelo or from his previous bout in 2024 despite ‘multiple’ attempts to contact him and his team.

Well, Crawford has since fired back at WBC’s statement as he put Sulaiman on blast over the sanctioning fees in an X-rated rant.

“Mauricio got a lot to say about me not paying him $300,000 plus another $100K-something for a sanctioning fee,” he began. “Then he’s gonna tell me I need to apologise. Who the f**k you think I am? Boy, you better slap your f**king self. I ain’t paying your ass, shit. What the f**k you talking about, pay you $300,000. What makes you so motherf**king better than any other sanctioning body? Answer that question.”

‘Bud’ added: “Everybody accepted what I was giving them. The WBC think that you better than everybody, and you’ve got the f**king green belt, which don’t mean f**king shit. You want me to pay you more than the other sanctioning bodies because you feel like you’re better than them.

“You can take the f**king belt. It’s a trophy anyway! What the f**k am I paying you every time I step foot in the f**king ring? I’m the motherf**ker that’s putting my life on the line, not you! You ain’t stepping your motherf**king ass in that ring. Why should I have to pay to carry your belt? You should be paying me!”

Crawford later singled out Sulaiman, claiming he was mad at him for beating the Mexican superstar.

“Mauricio, everybody in the world knows you were going for Canelo,” he continued. “You was mad that I beat Canelo. It’s OK. It happens. Say congratulations, instead of having that little smirk on your face, all mad and pouting. You should’ve took the money, and you should have been thankful and grateful that I was rocking your belt around as your champion. But you wanted to make it about you.

“Oh well, you stripped me. I’ve been stripped before. It doesn’t matter. I’m still considered the undisputed champion. I’m still the champion in the division. How you love that? You’re not for these fighters. You’re probably worse than the promoters.”

Crawford hasn’t fought since his masterful victory over Canelo.

He was in the mix to replace Gervonta Davis to face Jake Paul before they opted for Anthony Joshua.
