Patriots Star Will Campbell Finally Comes Out From Hiding – Reveals Who’s To Blame After His Historically Terrible Super Bowl Performance
Will Campbell emerges after a terrible Super Bowl showing.
New England Patriots rookie left tackle Will Campbell endured a historically terrible performance in Super Bowl LX. It was so far past bad that he decided not to even speak to reporters after the game.
Predicting Heisman Contenders Now Is Risky Business
When he was drafted, Campbell said he would die to protect Drake Maye. He certainly lived up to it as he got killed on almost every drive as Maye tried to run for his life. Campbell allowed a record 14 quarterback pressures in a 29-13 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on February 8, 2026.
The rookie, who admitted to kicking a cat during media week, has finally had time to think to himself.
After almost 48 hours, Campbell is breaking his silence and revealing what was to blame for his performance.

Will Campbell was involved in a lot of highlights during the Super Bowl on Sunday. None of them was good. The left tackle played one of the worst games of the entire NFL season on the biggest stage.
During multiple instances, the Seahawks ran around Campbell and even right through him to get to Drake Maye. That included a bull rush that led to a fumble. Campbell raised eyebrows after he declined to take part in interviews following the team’s 29-13 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl 60.
The 22-year-old apologized for that decision Tuesday, saying he was dealing with a lot of emotions after the game. For Campbell, his struggles persisted throughout the postseason. The No. 4 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft performed like one of the worst tackles in the playoffs.

Turns out, there was a reason for that. Campbell revealed he tore a ligament in his knee at some point this season.
It’s unclear exactly when Campbell sustained the injury, though it could explain why the rookie saw his performance take a dive in the playoffs.
He had an up-and-down rookie season, missing four games due to an MCL injury. He injured the knee on November 23 and was carted off the field. After a disappointing end to an otherwise promising season, Campbell will look to come back better than ever next season.
