Brutus Buckeye, the legendary mascot of the Ohio State Buckeyes, rubbed more salt into the wound of the Michigan Wolverines with a savage tactic in front of an angry crowd.

Nothing went right for the Wolverines in a humiliating 27-9 loss to their archrivals at home. Some fed-up Michigan fans even called for the team to fire head coach Sherrone Moore after a heartbreaking defeat that will keep them out of the 12-team College Football Playoff for the second straight year.

And to make matters worse for Michigan fans? The beloved mascot of the Ohio State Buckeyes wasted no time rubbing in the victory with a hysterical tactic in one of Michigan Stadium’s end zones.

Brutus made an “X” over the Michigan logo and drew “Ohio” in the snow, prompting a bystander to step in and remove the latter:

“This is more disrespectful than planting a flag,” Liam Blutman wrote.

Michigan was ranked 15th coming into this game, but Saturday’s loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes all but assures they won’t qualify for the playoffs.

Ryan Day’s Buckeyes had no issue taking care of their archrivals on the road, limiting the Wolverines to 163 yards of offense in their 27-9 win, per ESPN.

The defending national champions moved to 12-0 on the season after their statement win at Ann Arbor. The Buckeyes get another chance to strengthen their case as the team to beat next week, when they face No. 2 Indiana for the Big Ten Championship.

Regardless of that result, the Buckeyes will be an ultra-tough out when the 12-team College Football Playoff National Championship tournament begins next month.
