Josh Allen Was Spotted With “Banned” Substance In His Mouth During Bills-Texans ‘TNF’ Game

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was caught using a “banned” substance during the team’s frustrating 23-19 road loss to the Houston Texans on ‘Thursday Night Football.’

In one of the wildest games of the 2025 regular season thus far, one that saw head referee Adrian Hill get carted off with a leg injury, the Texans held on for a close four-point win over the reigning MVP and his Bills.

It was a difficult night for Josh Allen, who was sacked eight times by the league’s No. 1 defense. He was held to zero touchdowns and threw two interceptions, his second multi-pick game of the season.

Before coming onto the field for the final drive, Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Thursday Night Football’ cameras caught Allen chewing what appeared to be a Zyn pouch:

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield was using Zyn during a home game against the Baltimore Ravens last year.

As noted by ESPN’s Jenna Laine at the time, league rules prohibit players from using tobacco products during games and in interviews. Mayfield avoided discipline but was warned that another violation could result in a fine, Lane reported.

So, don’t be surprised if a warning comes Josh Allen’s way in the coming days.

Josh Allen & Bills Will Have To Settle For A Wild Card Spot Now

The New England Patriots (9-2) are practically in control of the AFC East, with the Bills falling to 7-4. It’s going to take a miracle for Buffalo to win a sixth straight division crown, and they’re better off keeping their focus on a wild card berth at this phase.

Sean McDermott’s Bills certainly don’t look like the team that was within a few plays of reaching the Super Bowl last year. They’ve benched second-year wideout Keon Coleman in consecutive games, despite lacking pass-catching depth with tight end Dalton Kincaid sidelined.

Buffalo is now just half a game up on the seventh-seeded Jacksonville Jaguars, and one game up on the Texans, who are on the outside looking in. There’s a lot to figure out as they try to avoid what would be a stunning second-half unraveling.
