NFL & NBC Facing Severe Punishment Over Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show

Could this really get ugly?

The NFL remains under scrutiny following its controversial Bad Bunny Halftime Show during Super Bowl 60.

The 31-year-old Puerto Rican put on a spectacle when the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots broke off after two quarters. He was joined by Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin, who also performed, while several other celebrities made cameos.

With the Super Bowl having come and gone, Republican Congressman Randy Fine has called for the NFL and broadcaster NBC to face action.

Fine, who represents Florida, claimed that the show was illegal due to Bad Bunny’s colorful language and “pornographic filth.”

“You can’t say the f-word on live TV. ‘Bad Bunny”s disgusting halftime show was illegal,” he declared (H/T the Palm Beach Post). “Had he said these lyrics — and all of the other disgusting and pornographic filth in English on live TV, the broadcast would have been pulled down and the fines would have been enormous.”

Fine added that he would be reaching out to the FCC.

“Puerto Ricans are Americans and we all live by the same rules,” he continued. “We are sending @BrendanCarrFCC a letter calling for dramatic action, including fines and broadcast license reviews, against the @NFL, @nbc, and ‘Bad Bunny.’ Lock them up,” he wrote on X.”

Donald Trump also called the NFL out over the event. The U.S. President branded the Halftime Show one of the worst ever in a Truth Social rant.

Still, the league is pleased with its decision to have the Puerto Rican headline the show.

“Bad Bunny is, and I think that was demonstrated last night, one of the great artists in the world, and that’s one of the reasons we chose him,” commissioner Roger Goodell said afterwards.

There were calls for action after Kendrick Lamar’s performance last year; nothing came out of them.
