Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Quarterback Lunch Winfield scored a touchdown Thursday night in Jonesboro and then walked over to an Arkansas state trooper. Winfield reached out his hand, and the officer shook it with a smile. It was a friendly, normal moment, the complete opposite of what fans saw earlier in the week at Texas A&M.

Last Saturday, South Carolina receiver Nyck Harbor ran into the tunnel after scoring a long touchdown against Texas A&M. As he tried to return to the field, a Texas state trooper stepped in front of him. The officer wouldn’t move, made physical contact with Harbor, and then pointed and yelled at him. Harbor looked confused and surprised.

Texas A&M removed the officer from his game-day duties, and now the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Office of Inspector General are investigating what happened. Videos of the incident went viral, and many hated the trooper’s behavior.

The moment in Jonesboro showed the opposite of last week’s drama.

After scoring, Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns QB Lunch Winfield jogged to the back of the end zone, where an Arkansas state trooper stood. Winfield reached out his hand, and the officer gladly shook it. There was no anger, pushing, or tension, just mutual respect.

 

Arkansas People near the scene said the officer looked happy and even pulled out his phone, possibly to save the memory.

The difference between the two moments is pretty straightforward.
