The biggest story of the Houston Rockets and the Washington Wizards game was Trae Young’s ejection. Young, who was in street clothes, was tossed out by referee Tony Brothers due to excessive complaining. But one little footnote on that game mostly escaped the eye of the public. Angel Reese’s little brother, Julian, made his NBA debut. On a starting role, too.

The younger Reese went unselected in the famed 2025 NBA Draft. Listed at 6-foot-9, the 22-year-old played for the Los Angeles Lakers in the summer league. He was then signed to an Exhibit 10 contract for the Toronto Raptors. On February 28, the Wizards gave the former Maryland standout a two-way deal.

It seems like all his hard work has paid off. After being surprisingly named as a starter, his older sister, Angel Reese, quickly reposted the news on X.

In 27 minutes, Julian Reeves scored just two points, but grabbed four rebounds and four steals. He also had four turnovers and fouled out in the game. The Houston Rockets escaped the Washington Wizards, 123-118.

With the WNBA still negotiating for more rights, some of its stars have now showcased their talents in the Unrivaled, a three-on-three league. As one of the WNBA’s most marketable stars, of course, Angel Reese grabbed the opportunity to play.

However, despite her solid outings, many fans were solely focused on her mishaps on the court. Truth be told, Reese isn’t known for her scoring skills. While she may be seen shooting jumpers during workouts, those haven’t translated into success on the court yet.

For now, she’s a solid rebounder, both on the offensive and defensive side. Whether she could legitimately develop a jumper from 15 feet, that remains the biggest ‘what if’ in her basketball career.
