LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WKRC) – An elementary school teacher in Kentucky is facing serious criminal charges after allegedly engaging in inappropriate “s3xual conversations” with a student during online instruction.
Sydnee Graf, 36, is a fifth-grade teacher at Smyrna Elementary School in Louisville, according to Fox56. She was arr3sted on Dec. 15.
The investigation began when Jefferson County Public Schools police contacted Louisville Metro Police detectives about the alleged “exploitation of a juvenile victim,” who was under 12 years old at the time. According to an arrest citation, the crimes happened during a virtual class, when Graf, a math teacher, engaged in s3xual conversations with the student.
Detectives reviewed screenshots and video recordings of the conversations, which reportedly included discussions of “oral sodomy,” according to PEOPLE. In that conversation, she allegedly said, “I really need to taste that d— fr fr.”
Graf then allegedly arranged to meet the juvenile on the day of her arrest. She was apprehended while picking up the student near his residence. The citation states that Graf admitted to the conversations after being read her Miranda rights.
During her arraignment on Dec. 16, the court entered a not guilty plea on Graf’s behalf and set her bond at $100,000 cash, according to WLKY.
In response to the allegations, Smyrna Elementary School principal Amanda Cooper informed parents that Graf will be reassigned and will not have contact with students during the ongoing investigation.
“Dear Smyrna Elementary School families, The safety of our students is our top priority and we always want to keep you informed, to the best of our ability, about what’s going on at our school. We have been made aware that the Crimes Against Children’s Unit (CACU), JCPS PD, and LMPD are investigating an allegation involving one of our staff members.
Following JCPS protocols, the staff member will be reassigned and will not have contact with students during the investigation. Because this is an active investigation, I cannot disclose anything more at this time. We know situations like this can cause anxiety for students and families. Our mental health team is always available. If you feel your student would benefit from talking with our mental health practitioner or counselor, please let us know. Thank you for your continued support of Smyrna Elementary School,” said the school, according to WAVE.
