Shocking New Report Claims Karmelo Anthony’s Family Is Using Fundraiser Money To Buy A New Home

The family of Karmelo Anthony has enough money to make a big decision going forward.
Anthony was released from jail on Monday after his bond was dropped from $1 million to $250,000. The family had raised $412,000 on GiveSendGo.
Anthony stands accused of fatally st@bbing Frisco track star Austin Metcalf.
As part of his release, Anthony is under house arrest with an ankle monitor and can only leave his home with the judge’s permission.
In the meantime, the family plans to use his $400,000 legal defense fund to move into a new home and hire security after facing racist threats.
The family of Karmelo Anthony will be in a gated community.
“Given that Karmelo has no prior criminal history and given that this young man has not been in any sort of trouble before, $1 million is not necessary,” defense attorney Mike Howard said.
“This family needs to be able to survive. There’s been a tremendous amount of pressure.”
“I think at this point, living in a gated community, given everything, the safety of their younger children is very warranted. Security details and criminal defense are not cheap.”
Karmelo Anthony was in court as he faced a first-degree murd3r charge for the k!lling of Austin Metcalf, who d!ed in his twin brother Hunter’s arms after being st@bbed in the heart at a track meet in Frisco earlier this month.
During the hearing, prosecutors asked his father, Andrew Anthony, why he could not use the more than $415,000 in donated funds for his son’s defense to pay the original $1 million bond.
Andrew Anthony said the fund was to be used for Anthony’s legal defense, and the rest was being used for security and to help the family move after the threats they have allegedly faced since the k!lling.
Karmelo Anthony Facing An Uphill Battle
Karmelo Anthony, the 17-year-old charged with first-degree murd3r in the fatal st@bbing of a teen at a Frisco track meet earlier this month, might be out of jail, but he still faces an uphill battle.
Anthony walked out of jail silently, but his case is and will remain loud until a verdict is read.
Anthony had been in the Collin County jail since his April 2 arrest for allegedly st@bbing and k!lling 17-year-old Austin Metcalf at a Frisco ISD track meet.
Witnesses state the st@bbing stemmed from an argument over where Anthony was seated.
While in custody, he allegedly admitted to his actions and asked if what he did would be considered self-defense.
