Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley: The Real Reason Behind Their Breakup Revealed
Aaron Rodgers kicked off his 2024 NFL season with a tough loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football. As he prepares for week two, it’s safe to say his ex-girlfriend, actress Shailene Woodley, is no longer on his mind.
Rodgers and Woodley were together for about a year, beginning in February 2021 and ending things in February 2022. Their split stirred up plenty of speculation, with fans left wondering what caused the breakup—until now.
Shailene Woodley Opens Up About Heartbreak
In a recent interview with Bustle while promoting her new series “Three Sisters,” Woodley finally shared personal details about what happened. She revealed that her “broken heart” was the main reason for the split, saying, “Just a broken heart. A broken heart that healed and broke again.”
Woodley explained that she used to give endlessly in relationships, even when crossed or disrespected. Now, she sets boundaries: “When you cross me, I respectfully go, ‘Thank you so much for that information. Have a beautiful life. I wish you well.’ I’m not interested.”
A Changed Perspective on Relationships
The actress admitted that her relationship with the NFL MVP changed her outlook on love and relationships. “It’s really taken me a lot of time to understand that it’s not on me to fix or heal or do anything about [a relationship] other than protect the deep care and love that I have for the world and for my people,” Woodley shared.
She added, “Ultimately, that has helped me walk away without the need to understand why certain things didn’t play out the way that I may have desired them to.”
Moving On
While Rodgers is likely focused on football and not paying attention to these revelations, it’s clear that both he and Woodley have moved on—and are probably very different people. For Woodley, her heartbreak helped her grow and find peace, even if the answers weren’t always clear.
Shailene Woodley Calls ‘Broken Heart’ The Reason For Aaron Rodgers Break Up
Woodley continued by saying not only did her ‘Broken Heart’ cause the breakup, but it also helped her push through after the ordeal, saying, “Just a broken heart. A broken heart that healed and broke again.”
Woodley added that her relationship with the Pro Bowler changed her view of relationships, “It’s really taken me a lot of time to understand that it’s not on me to fix or heal or do anything about [a relationship] other than protect the deep care and love that I have for the world and for my people.”
The actress added, “Ultimately, that has helped me walk away without the need to understand why certain things didn’t play out the way that I may have desired them to.” If we’re being honest, Rodgers does do some pretty ununderstandable things.
Rodgers is most likely not paying any attention to this, but if one thing is for sure, we know the two are most likely completely different people.
