Sunny Hostin is demanding Kristi Noem’s impeachment following her House hearing.

On Tuesday, March 3, the U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, 54, appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee to address multiple issues including the partial DHS shutdown and her department’s approach to immigration enforcement across the nation.

While speaking to the secretary, Senator Amy Klobuchar paused to recognize the tragic death of Alex Pretti, the 37-year-old nurse who was shot and killed by ICE agents in Minneapolis, Minnesota this past January. She first acknowledged his mourning family, inquiring, “Do you have anything you want to say to Alex Pretti’s parents?”

Noem replied, “I can’t even imagine what they have gone through in the loss of their son. It’s absolutely tragic.”

Klobuchar then questioned whether she felt any regret about labeling him a “domestic terrorist.”

The secretary subsequently rejected the senator’s claim, explaining, “I did not call him a domestic terrorist. I said it appeared to be an incident of.”

Within hours of the hearing’s conclusion, The View hosts discussed her testimony and compared it to her earlier remarks on the subject in January.

The program aired footage of Noem declaring, “It was an act of domestic t̾e̾r̾r̾o̾r̾i̾s̾m̾.”

“This individual, who came with weapons and ammunition to stop a law enforcement operation of federal law enforcement officers, committed an act of domestic t̾e̾r̾r̾o̾r̾i̾s̾m̾. That’s the fact,” she added.

Hostin appeared visibly outraged by the secretary’s unwillingness to accept accountability. She started by asserting, “That was a murder,” before declaring, “Secretary Noem is wholly unqualified for her job. She has zero empathy. She is not taking responsibility for what she did.

“She denied that she called them domestic terrorists. She should be impeached,” the host went on. “She should lose her job. There is precedent for it. She’s gotta go.”

At the time of Pretti’s death, Border Patrol commander Gregory Bovino stated agents had been conducting a “targeted” operation when the man confronted his team with a “9mm semi-automatic” hand𝓰𝓾𝓷.

He claimed the agents tried to disarm him, but he “violently resisted,” leading an officer to “fire defensive shots.”

Many observers believe his account contradicts the video circulating across the internet, which shows Pretti moments before the s͎h͎o͎o͎t͎i͎n͎g͎, recording agents with his phone.

From one perspective, an agent seems to shove a woman, causing Pretti to place his arms around her. After the agent pushed against a second woman, Pretti extended his arm and positioned himself between the two.

The agent then sprayed a substance in Pretti’s eyes. He turned his face away and lifted one hand in the air, with no 𝓰𝓾𝓷 in visible sight.

Multiple agents became involved, subduing Pretti to the ground. The New York Times analyzed the footage and did not identify Pretti had a 𝓰𝓾𝓷 until eight seconds after they had pinned him to the ground.

Moments later, 10 𝓰𝓾𝓷shots rang out and Pretti was dead.
