Kelly Osbourne’s close friends have emphasized that she is “just holding herself together” in the wake of her father Ozzy Osbourne’s passing, as she confronts “cruel” remarks about her appearance.

The star attended the BRITs on February 28, accompanied by her mother, Sharon. The pair appeared on stage to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award on Ozzy’s behalf, following his death in 2025.

A visibly emotional Kelly expressed gratitude to the audience for “loving my father as much as we do,” after Sharon delivered a heartfelt tribute to her late husband. However, instead of honoring Ozzy’s contributions to music, some social media users chose to criticize Kelly’s weight. One user posted, “Looks like a dead body… She’s tooooo thin and fragile… Looks like she’s going to see her dad soon.”

In response to the backlash, Kelly’s friends have spoken out in her support, with one insider revealing to the Daily Mail that Kelly is “just holding herself together.”

Another source noted, “Sharon seems in a much better place. But it’s clear Kelly is still dealing with a lot of grief.”

Kelly has also addressed the situation directly. She posted a message on Instagram, stating, “There is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something.

The star said she was going through ‘the hardest time’ of her life

“I’m currently going through the hardest time of my life. I should not even have to defence myself. But I won’t sit here and allow myself to be dehumanised in such a way.”

When the negative comments persisted, she followed up with, “Literally can’t believe how disgusting some human beings truly are! No one deserves this sort of abuse.”

Kelly’s father, Ozzy, passed away in July 2025 after suffering a heart attack. He had been battling Parkinson’s disease prior to his death. His family has been candid about their mourning in the months that followed, reports the Mirror.

Recognizing her pain, several of Kelly’s supporters shared encouraging messages on Instagram. One fan commented, “Absolutely stunning!!! I’m so sorry for all the hate comments, it’s disgusting. Grief will literally CONSUME you, they just don’t understand yet. I lost my dad too and I wish people would realize how f—ing hard it is to go on!!! We are proud of you Kelly and so is your dad, keep going strong and make your dad proud.”

Another defended her against critics, writing, “She is grieving the death of her father. Some of you could never understand how deep that really is. So for you to sit on this page and judge her. Find something else to do on the Internet.”
