Fox News contributor Kat Timpf has shared a new health update, revealing she is taking some time away from Gutfeld! as she undergoes reconstructive surgery.

The 36-year-old columnist and comedian was diagnosed with breast cancer just hours before going into labor with her son in February this year.

In March, she underwent a double mastectomy and was praised by fans as she returned to the show in the middle of June.

But on Monday, Kat announced she is taking another break from Gutfeld! – and said she decided to explain the reason for it to avoid any speculation online.

She said on the show, “When I came back, I said I still had some surgeries to go.” She explained the first reconstructive surgery is next week.

She added, “So I’m going to be out for a couple of weeks. Even with the best-case scenario of breast cancer, [it] can involve quite a road to feeling whole again. So this is the first step in that.

“Just so the internet can’t come up with theories about where I am, that’s where I am. Thank you everyone for all your support, vibes and prayers or however you show that. I really appreciate it and I can’t wait to come back soon.”

The following day, Kat shared a snippet of her explaining the reason for her absence on X, captioning the post, “I’ll be back on @Gutfeldfox in a few weeks! Huge thanks to those of you who have taken the time to offer me words of kindness and support. I love u all so much.”

In February, the Gutfeld! regular took to Instagram to announce that she became a mother and was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly before going into labor.

In her post, she said, “Last week, I welcomed my first child into the world. About fifteen hours before I went into Labor, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.”

She reassured her followers by adding, “Now, before you worry, my doctor says it’s stage 0 and is confident that it almost certainly hasn’t spread. Or, as I’ve explained to the few people I’ve managed to tell about it so far: don’t freak out. It’s just, like, a little bit of cancer.

“Still, it was not a chill day. I mean, to say the least! I woke up more-than-a-week-past-due pregnant, completely consumed by doing everything I could to get the baby out. By the middle of the afternoon, I was waddling around from appointment to appointment, talking about how to get my cancer out.

“I sat and listened as they told me that the best course of action would likely be a double mastectomy as soon as possible.”

In March, Timpf underwent a double mastectomy for breast cancer. At the time, she shared a post-surgery update to let fans know she was doing well.

She shared an image from a hospital bed of her legs covered by a gown with an animated “censored” illustration over her feet.

In the caption, she made a joke about how much her breast size had been reduced, writing, “Post-op! They’re honestly not much smaller than they were before I got pregnant.”

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the US, except for skin cancers, and accounts for about 30% of of all new female cancers each year, according to the American Cancer Society. There are currently more than four million breast cancer survivors in the US – including women still being treated and those who have completed treatment.
