As “Wheel of Fortune” kicks off season 43, host Ryan Seacrest is revealing one show secret that longtime co-host Vanna White didn’t know. The “American Idol” host also dished on one of his goals for the new season.
Vanna White Says She Didn’t Know This ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Secret
During a September 5 interview with ABC News, Seacrest and White chatted about the new season of “Wheel of Fortune.”
Seacrest shared a show secret that left his co-host stunned.
When asked how frequently he spins the famous wheel, Seacrest admitted, “I did it once, and that was the only time. It didn’t go far. I didn’t put my leg into it.”
He also revealed, “And do you know the clicking sound? There are rubber bands, like you used to have with orthodontia on your teeth … That’s what makes the clicking sound.”
White confessed, “Do you know, I never knew that?”
Seacrest joked, “Well, welcome to season 43! You’re going to really like it here.”
Fans are thrilled to see Seacrest and White back in action on the game show. The comments section of the show’s August 27 Instagram post was flooded with people saying, “Can’t wait” and “Welcome back!”

Ryan Seacrest Has a Goal for ‘Wheel of Fortune’
Seacrest and White also dished on how the “American Idol” star has adjusted to his role as the new host of “Wheel of Fortune.”
White confirmed that Seacrest “found his footing pretty quickly,” noting that he “did his homework before he came.”
“The transition was amazing,” White shared. “He just slipped right in like he’s been doing it forever.”
Seacrest also revealed that he has a big goal for “Wheel” this season — he wants to give away $1 million.
“That’s been sort of my goal since I started,” he shared.
White added, “It has! I feel like it’s gotta happen … Think positive.”
Seacrest is adding more “Wheel” hosting duties to his plate, as he’ll take on “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.” He is looking forward to having “a different kind of fun” because “there’s more time.”
White confirmed, “It is [fun] and they’re relaxed. They’re used to being in front of the camera. It’s just a party.”
As for whether White is going to retire anytime soon, she said she’s not looking to move on just yet. “I’m not ready to retire,” she shared. “I’m having too much fun!”
