Sheinelle Jones’ Today Show return date has been revealed after the host’s husband d!ed of brain cancer earlier this year.

Sheinelle, 47, has been away from her Today job since last December, when her husband, Uche Ojeh, battled glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.

He tragically d!ed in May at just 45, and left behind their three children, her son Kayin, 16, and fraternal twins, Clara and Uche, 13.

Craig Melvin introduced the big Today Show announcement around 7:53 am on Tuesday and said, “By the way, we’ve got some other great news that we’re so excited to share with you this morning, and it involves a member of our own Today family.”

Savannah Guthrie continued, “This Friday, our beloved Sheinelle will be returning to the show.

“She and her family have been through so much after the devastating loss of her husband Uche,” Today’s lead anchor said.

She added that Sheinelle fans can also expect a touching interview on Friday as well.

“And we recently sat down together, we shared a really personal conversation, talking about how she has carried on and found the strength these past few months. She has called this experience a ‘beautiful nightmare,’” Savannah told fans.

“She has a special message of hope for anyone facing their own struggles. We cannot wait to welcome Sheinelle home.”

HEARTBREAKING TRAGEDY

The anchor’s long break is understandable.

On May 23, Sheinelle’s Today colleagues tearfully revealed that her husband of 17 years had passed away following a brave, private fight against brain cancer.

“With profound sadness, we share this morning that Uche Ojeh, the husband of our friend and Today co-host Sheinelle Jones, has passed away after a courageous battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer called glioblastoma,” Savannah told viewers.

“There are no words for the pain we feel for Sheinelle and their three young children.

“Uche was an incredible person. We all loved him.”

Sheinelle, who quietly stepped back from work around the holidays to address a “family health matter,” broke her silence to express gratitude for the support she received from her colleagues.

“Thank you, for all of your love and support,” she wrote in an Instagram post after sharing the Today announcement.

Since then, Sheinelle has stayed out of the public eye as she mourns her loss.

A source previously told The U.S. Sun that executives are considering promoting Sheinelle to Jenna Bush Hager’s official co-host on the fourth hour of the show.

“They need someone who can throw to break, someone who knows the craft of making TV work, and Sheinelle is a pro,” the source explained.

HER BOOK’S RELEASE

Sheinelle’s book release was also pushed back twice amid her family’s tragedy.

The Today host’s book Through Mom’s Eyes will now be officially released on February 10, 2026, according to publisher Penguin Random House.

The book was initially scheduled for release on April 15, 2025 but was quietly rescheduled to October 21.

Now, however, fans will have to wait until next year to get their hands on it.

Sheinelle spoke with the mothers of Lady Gaga, Jessica Simpson, The Jonas Brothers, Venus and Serena Williams, and several other famous figures for the book.
