In an emotional Instagram post shared on Sunday, the TV star revealed it’s been extra difficult being away from his furry companion because she’s currently going through health issues.

He posted a photo of himself smiling alongside Stella, accompanied by a lengthy caption about the canine’s tough battle.

“This is a tough one. I wanted to give an unfortunate update on my sweet little pup, Stella,” Robert’s caption began.

“A mass was discovered that ended up being cancerous. We still don’t know the full extent of the cancer. I have faith she’ll be in the clear.

“She is such an important part of our little fam, so it’s been stressful to say the least being away from home and away from her while she goes through this. I know you guys love seeing her and I love sharing her with you so wanted to give an update… she is doing ok post-surgery so far, she’s my little bestie & one tough cookie,” he concluded.

‘POOR LITTLE BABY’

Many of Robert’s DWTS co-stars left comments with kind words and prayers for Stella.

Whitney Leavitt reacted by leaving a white heart emoji, while pro-dancer Alan Bersten wrote, “Poor little baby. Praying she makes a full recovery.”

Robert’s sister and former DWTS champ, Bindi, also chimed in, writing, “She’s such a strong and beautiful little soul.”

Their mother, Terri, added, “Every day is another day of healing. She is a determined little soul!”

ROBERT’S DEDICATION

Shortly after, Robert shared a collage of photos, including pics of him and Witney rehearsing and throwback snaps from his childhood.

The theme on the show this week is “Dedication Night,” where the remaining pairings will perform routines dedicated to people or causes that mean something to them.

Robert revealed in the post that his mother is the one he is dedicating his dance to, along with a heartfelt message.

“It has been an emotional week in rehearsals. I’ve been thinking a lot about my mum and her strength, I’ve been reminiscing on the times we’ve spent as a family and how she has kept my dad part of my life,” the TV personality wrote.

“This dance is for my mum, it’s for anyone who’s lost someone… and it’s for all the strong mothers of the world who deserve our recognition and appreciation.”

Terri became a single mother when Robert and Bindi were little, after their father, Steve Irwin, died in September 2006.

Steve, known as “the Crocodile Hunter,” was a wildlife conservationist who died after getting stung by a stingray while filming an underwater documentary in the Great Barrier Reef.

The family has since made it their mission to protect all wildlife and expand the Australia Zoo, saving thousands of animals in the process.
