Dylan Dreyer wears her “boy mom” badge with honor while raising her sons: Calvin, Oliver and Russell.

The Today co-host shares her kids with her husband, Brian Fichera. The pair met while working at the same Boston news station and married in 2012.  After relocating to New York City, they welcomed Calvin in 2016, followed by Oliver in 2020 and Russell in 2021.

Reflecting on motherhood in 2022, Dylan told her Today colleagues that she feels “so complete” with her boys. Shortly after, the meteorologist announced that she would be stepping away from appearing on Weekend Today to spend more time with her husband and children.

“It’s all about family time,” she said on the air. “These boys are my whole life and Brian and I, we love being a team on weekends and spending as much time as we can with them and having as much fun as we can.”

Calvin “Cal” Bradley Fichera, 8

Dylan and Brian welcomed their first child, son Calvin Bradley Fichera, on Dec. 17, 2016.

At only 7 weeks old, Calvin made his TV debut — and first Today show appearance — while cheering on the New England Patriots at the 2017 Super Bowl. A newly minted mom, Dylan told viewers that she was “totally obsessed” with her son.

When he was 6, Calvin was diagnosed with celiac disease. Originally, the couple thought he was dealing with a dairy allergy. Still, the pain in his abdomen persisted and was later accompanied by symptoms like headaches, rash, hair loss and ear pain. An endoscopy eventually revealed a stomach ulcer, and additional testing confirmed that Calvin had celiac disease.

Dylan told PEOPLE in May 2023 that she was “grateful” for the news because it’s a manageable condition that wasn’t anything more serious. While adjusting the family’s daily routine to account for Calvin’s celiac disease, Dylan approached it with positivity.

“It’s a life change and my goal is to make sure Calvin sees it as no big deal,” she said. “Calvin really loves food, and he’s willing to try stuff.”

Since then, he has joined his mom on Today for his own segment “Cooking with Cal,” in which they try out gluten-free recipes.

While celebrating Calvin’s eighth birthday in December 2024, the TV personality reflected on growing alongside her son in a candid Instagram post.

“How are you 8???? I remember the day you were born…I never thought I’d be a good mom,” she wrote. “Now I’m making homemade layer cakes … It’s what Cal wanted and I will give these boys the world.”

Oliver “Ollie” George Fichera, 5

The couple announced the pregnancy in July 2019, three months after Dylan publicly shared she had experienced a miscarriage that winter. After trying to conceive for six months, they were preparing to begin in vitro fertilization when they received happy news from their doctor.

“When he called, he said, ‘Well, you can’t start IVF because you’re already pregnant!’ We were in complete shock. We couldn’t believe it!” Dylan told PEOPLE at the time.

Prior to Oliver’s birth, the mom expressed her immense gratitude for welcoming a second child.

“We weren’t sure we were going to get pregnant or what sort of IVF treatments we’d have to go through to be able to have this baby,” she told PEOPLE in December 2019.

Dylan continued, “So every night I pray and thank God for putting us in this situation and giving us this opportunity and not having to struggle any longer than we did.”

As for their son’s moniker, she admitted to her Today colleagues that “there’s no significance” behind the name Oliver. However, the namesake jumped out to her and Brian during a work trip to London.

They initially just “liked the name,” but then “everybody we were around was either named Oliver [or we saw it elsewhere],” Dylan recalled. “There were just all these signs, and we were like, ‘Yeah, I think Oliver’s it.’ ”

Oliver, who affectionately goes by “Ollie,” has developed a close relationship with his paternal grandparents — he’s even picked up their Boston accent.

In a funny Instagram video, Dylan captured Oliver dropping the “R” in the word “color.” When she tried to correct him, Oliver doubled down on his pronunciation, saying, “No, col-uh.”

Russell “Rusty” James Fichera, 4

Dylan and Brian’s son Russell James Fichera was born on Sept. 29, 2021.

His birth story caught the couple by surprise. Dylan’s water broke six weeks early, causing her to deliver Russell before the 34-week benchmark. He weighed in at 5 lbs., 5 oz., and after spending a week in the neonatal intensive care unit, he went home.

With their third child, the pair wanted to pass on a family moniker: Russell is named after Brian’s father, and his middle name, James, is a nod to Dylan’s father.

“We finally worked in a family connection. Both our dads started crying when we told them,” Dylan revealed during a virtual appearance on the Today show. “It’s just been really special.”

Fast forward, Russell celebrated his first birthday during a trip to Italy. The family of five, alongside Brian’s parents, explored the sights and foods of Rome and Tuscany.

In an Instagram caption, Dylan said she was “#feelingblessed” to have so many joyous reasons to celebrate — including birthdays and double wedding anniversaries.

After welcoming Russell, Dylan admitted she was “terrified” and felt “guilt” about returning to work, but her husband helped shift her perspective.

“He’s always saying, ‘The lessons you’re teaching our boys by working as hard as you work will be a part of them forever.’ He makes me feel better and less guilty about working,” she said in an MSNBC interview. “I’m showing the boys that you work hard to get the things you want.”
