Today Show host Sheinelle Jones has pushed back the release of her memoir for a second time following the d3ath of her husband Uche Ojeh earlier this year.

The journalist’s book, Through Mom’s Eyeswas initially due to come out on April 15, 2025 but the release date was moved to October 21, 2025. Now, publisher Penguin Random House has stated on its official website that the 256-page memoir will come out on February 10, 2026.

The book, described as “an inspiring collection of heartfelt life-lessons from hard working moms who raised some of our favorite celebrities,” is based on Sheinelle’s Today Show segment, where she interviewed mothers of famous people about raising successful kids. These include the moms of Lin-Manuel Miranda, Lady Gaga, Steph Curry, and more.

The synopsis reads, “When Sheinelle Jones launched ‘Through Mom’s Eyes,’ a recurring Today show segment interviewing celebrities’ mothers about raising successful kids, she had an ulterior motive – she wanted to bring all their wisdom to bear on raising her own three children. So she asked Lin-Manuel Miranda’s mom about staying present with kids while balancing a demanding career, talked with Lady Gaga’s mom about how to recognize bullying, and got tips from Steph Curry’s mom on making sure even future NBA royalty does his chores.

“She has since interviewed dozens of remarkable women and gathered a candid, warm, and insightful collection of valuable lessons about life, love, and parenthood.” It adds, “Combining insights from celebrity mothers with her own journey through modern parenting, Sheinelle reveals how to make it through the hard parts of motherhood and still tap into the joys of it with empathy, generosity, and solidarity.”

Sheinelle had three children – Kayin, Uche and Clara – with her late husband, Uche Ojeh, who died at the age of 45 after a secret battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer in May. The Third Hour anchor, 47, had taken some time away from the air to tend to her late husband during his deteriorating health while also supporting their kids.

The announcement of Uche’s passing was made on air by Sheinelle’s colleagues Savannah Guthrie, Craig Melvin, Al Roker, Jenna Bush Hager and Dylan Dreyer, who paid tribute to him with a moving video. The clip included pictures of Sheinelle and Uche throughout the years, with some key moments in their relationship highlighted. Savannah said Uche, who shared three children with Sheinelle, was an “incredible person” and the “perfect partner in life” for the TV host.

After the tribute aired on TV, Sheinelle – who has been absent from the morning show since December – shared the video on her Instagram account. Thanking all those who have been supporting her at this heartbreaking time, the mom-of-three, aged 47, wrote, “Thank you, for all of your love and support.”

Hundreds of viewers and many of Sheinelle’s colleagues commented on the post, with Savannah writing, “Uche was an extraordinary person. Full of light and heart and faith. Sheinelle, my dearest, we love you and the kids with all of our hearts. I marvel at your strength. You are surrounded by love now and forever.”

“Sheinelle sending you love and prayers,” said host Sherri Shepherd, while NBC meteorologist Dylan Dreyer wrote, “Hoping you can find peace in the love and prayers that surround you and your incredible children. I’m so lucky to have known Uche and his spirit lives on in your family. Love you Sheinelle.”
