Gov. Jeff Landry posted a video on Monday night saying LSU should put up a statue of Charlie Kirk, the conservative activist who was tragically sh0t and k!lled during a speech on a college campus last month.

“We’re going to put a challenge out to the LSU Board of Supervisors to find a place to put a statue of Charlie Kirk to defend the freedom of speech on college campuses,” Landry says in the video as he stood next to the Mike the Tiger statue near Tiger Stadium.

Not many people have agreed with him.

LSU women’s basketball star Flau’jae Johnson expressed disapproval by stating, “For the sake of clarity, if you align yourself with or endorse his racist rhetoric and discriminatory views toward people of color, I respectfully ask that you utilize the unfollow option at the top right of my profile.”

Landry’s post came after Turning Point USA came to LSU’s campus on Monday night for the “American Comeback” tour.

Kirk is a well-known p0litical activist who helped found conservative youth organization Turning Point USA. Unfortunately, his rhetoric was not well-received by all. Tyler Robinson allegedly planned out and k!lled him at an event at Utah Valley University. He was arrested and charged with the d3adly sh00ting.

Ryan Clark has expressed outrage after Republican Gov. Jeff Landry called on LSU to erect a statue of Charlie Kirk.

Kirk had been scheduled to speak at the LSU event before he was fatally sh0t on September 10 while addressing students at Utah Valley University.

Clark, the former LSU standout, made his opinion on the bizarre situation happening down at his alma mater clear.

Speaking on “First Take” on Thursday, Clark destroyed Landry for his comments as well as his other comments on allowing Donald Trump to pick LSU’s next football coach.

“It’s the second most ridiculous thing he said this week,” Clark said as he alluded to the Charlie Kirk statue.

“The first was standing on campus and saying he wanted to put a statue of somebody that doesn’t represent the people of Louisiana, doesn’t represent the players and the students at LSU, doesn’t represent the executives that work there. That was the first dumb thing he said this week,” Clark said.

Landry previously told reporters that LSU athletic director Scott Woodward would not be involved in selecting the Tigers’ new football coach, saying he’d let President Donald Trump do it, per ESPN.

“No, I can tell you right now Scott Woodward is not selecting our next coach,” Landry told reporters.
