Danny Rivera is a lineman for the Corrigan-Camden varsity football team who will never get to realize his full potential and dream after his tragic d3ath.

The student-athlete at Corrigan-Camden ISD was in critical condition after a medical emergency during last Friday’s football game.

Rivera did not play in the game as he was unable to suit up due to a previous and unrelated injury.

In the midst of supporting his squad, Rivera suffered a medical emergency during the Bulldogs’ game versus Joaquin.

He was promptly taken to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, but he would soon lose his life.

This tragic news comes on the heels of aΒ promising young football player named Kaleb Hill tragically passing awayΒ after his junior varsity physical. The 15-year-old, a student at Montgomery High School, showed signs of dehydration while practicing at home and collapsed moments after.

Unfortunately, it was later confirmed that he had an undiagnosed heart condition, which was not detected until it was too late.

Just the month before,Β 17-year-old junior Calvin Etter tragically d!ed in a car crashΒ just days before the school year wrapped up. Calvin’s crash happened in the early hours of May 28.

Daniel Rivera, a high school football player at Corrigan-Camden in East Texas, suffered a medical emergency that had him transported to the hospital before he would ultimately lose his life.

A message from Corrigan-Camden Superintendent Brian Aiken and Athletic Director Brett Ratliff gave further details on the situation.

β€œWe appreciate our first responders, staff, students, and community members for their prompt assistance last night. If you would like to help the family by donating, please visit the Bulldog Athletic Facebook page. There, you will find a link to make a donation,Β perΒ East Texas News.

β€œPlease keep this young man and his family in your thoughts and prayers.”

The school held a wrestling event that was scheduled to fund Project Graduation, but following Rivera’s d3ath, they decided to forward all proceeds directly to the family.

On the gridiron, Rivera was a star on both sides of the ball, playing offensive and defensive lineman for the Bulldogs.
