“We could not be prouder of how hard he has worked…”

Al Roker and Deborah Roberts celebrated a parental milestone this weekend: the TODAY weatherman and his wife cheered as their youngest child, Nick Roker, graduated from college.
“Three years ago, we dropped him off as a first-year college student. Today @nickroker155 has his #associatesdegree in #communications and we could not be prouder of how hard he has worked and is determined to get his #bachelorsdegree,” wrote Al on Instagram along with several photos from Nick’s first days at college as well as photos and a video of his recent graduation.
Al previously shared during a 2019 TODAY segment that Nick has some “special needs.” He and Deborah have been both vocal advocates for their son.
Nick has “met a lot of challenges,” Al said, and being involved in the family’s church has been Nick’s “mission.”
Al has documented Nick’s college process from the start. In December 2021, he shared an Instagram video of the moment Nick learned he had been accepted into not one, but two, colleges.
“I’m not even kidding,” Nick replied, with his dad cheering, “Way to go, bud. Congratulations!” The family celebrated with high-fives and hugs.
He then documented Nick’s first day on campus in August 2022 … which was also the day Al and his wife, a senior national affairs correspondent for ABC News, officially became empty nesters.
The pair also share their daughter, Leila, as well as Courtney, Al’s daughter from a previous marriage. Courtney made the pair grandparents when she gave birth to Sky Clara Laga in July 2023.
It was a double graduation weekend for the TODAY weatherman and co-host, 70, who also gave a commencement address to Siena College’s class of 2025 on May 18. “My kids will be so embarrassed, which is really the bonus of being a parent,” he said before starting his speech.

It seems as though Al couldn’t be prouder of his youngest child. Al concluded his post by writing, “Way to go, my boy.”

“The Night the Opry Touched Heaven: Dolly, Reba, Keith, Carrie, and George Strait Carried Toby Keith on Wings of Song.” Nashville that night was no longer Nashville – the entire Grand Ole Opry transformed into a holy heaven, where souls met in song. More than 3,000 people sat motionless, only tears silently falling – because everyone knew they were not just listening to a performance, but witnessing a miracle: Toby Keith was sung home, with the love of legends.

Vince Gill & Ashley McBryde: The Night Nashville Fell Silent “Oh, the lonely sound of my voice calling…” When Vince Gill began to sing at the ACM Honors, the room froze. The country legend clutched his worn guitar, while Ashley McBryde stood by his side, eyes shimmering as if holding back tears. Together, they performed “When I Call Your Name” not just as a song, but as a farewell letter. Vince sang like a man reliving the night he came home to an empty house and a note on the table. Ashley answered with a voice sharp as heartbreak itself, slicing through the silence and drawing tears from every corner of the hall. “Just like rain, the tears keep falling…” That night, Nashville didn’t just hear music — Nashville wept. The standing ovation was thunderous, but even within the applause, there was sorrow. It wasn’t simply a duet; it was a communion of grief and love, reminding everyone why country music is the language of the heart. And long after the final note faded, people whispered the same thing: this was one of the most haunting performances in ACM history. ▶️Listen this song in the 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 👇 See less
