Sophie Cunningham Reveals Former Teammates Targeting Caitlin Clark

Cunningham played for the Phoenix Mercury for a long time before being traded to the Indiana Fever. She’s been around several other players and knows how Clark was targeted when she arrived at the WNBA.

“You have seen players in our league try to like toughen up Caitlin even when I wasn’t on her team. I know the talks that Phoenix had in the locker room. No, we’re gonna show her what the W really is, you know what I mean. Like, I get to it to a certain extent every rookie comes into the league and that’s how you’re gonna treat them. But there is just more for her. So, it’s her second year and now being on her team and like seeing it. I’m like what are people doing, it’s just too much,” Sophie Cunningham said via her podcast.

Cunningham is one among many to back Caitlin Clark. She’s done it before and she continues to be a strong support for her teammate. Cunningham feels that Clark has always been targeted since she entered the WNBA.
