Caitlin Clark returns to Iowa in Fever's preseason game against Brazil despite leg injury | News, Sports, Jobs - The Mining Gazette

Caitlin Clark might not be playing at the moment. But she is definitely not going out of the limelight. As the Indiana Fever faced the Seattle Storm, CC was once again forced to watch from the sidelines. But given how invested she is in the game, the Rookie of the Year could not help but control her emotions.

The Fever star is known to be an overly expressive athlete. During her All-Star game, she booed her own teammates for failing to execute a play. Now, with the 23-year-old mouthing the official, the moment instantly became viral.

Caitlin Clark Lashes Out At The Official

The Indiana Fever continued their merry march without Caitlin Clark. With a 78-74 victory, the Fever is showing some strong signs of becoming a championship contender. However, both teams battled closely right from the start. And things soon turned interesting.

With just over two minutes left in the first quarter, the official ignored an obvious foul. This made Clark enraged as she could not fathom how the referee missed it despite being in close proximity to the incident.

“You were right in front of her,” Clark shouted at the referee.

Now, while the incident has garnered eyeballs, this is not CC’s first time disputing the officials. Back in July, the 23-year-old had another instance while playing against the Connecticut Sun. Clark grew so enraged that her coach had to physically hold her back to stop her from confronting the official. Unfortunately, despite showing a lot of intent, the Fever star’s comeback still remains uncertain.

Sophie Cunningham Provides Update On Caitlin Clark

The wait has been a long one. Clark has now missed more than 15 games owing to her groin injury. And while the Fever have managed well without her, the team needs her back at the earliest. Speaking on the ‘Show Me Something’ podcast, Sophie Cunningham provided a sombre update.

Honestly no. It is her groin, but it’s such like a weird injury… She’s not in pain all the time. But when you do hurt it you’re out for another….So I think they’re trying to be like extra cautious so she doesn’t kind of have those little setbacks,” Cunningham said.

Thus, as the wait drags on, fans eagerly hope to see CC back in action soon.
