Dallas Wings rookie guard Paige Bueckers became one of the best players in the WNBA. Wednesday night, she delivered a majestic performance against the Los Angeles Sparks that gained the attention of several NBA stars.
Bueckers shot a perfect 4-of-4 from three-point range to record a career high of 44 points on 17 of 21 shooting. Despite the Wings struggling with a 9-27 record, Bueckers, who was picked No. 1 overall as Dallas won first picks in WNBA and NBA, remains a strong candidate for Rookie of the Year.
Bueckers averaged 18.8 points, 5.4 assists, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game. She also posted in double figures in 29 straight games, the third-longest streak by a rookie in league history.
Though Wings lost 81-80 in a close game, Bueckers’ significant knock stole the show. NBA stars, including Jalen Green, Jabari Smith Jr., and Chet Holmgren, showed appreciation for her big night. Moreover, Holmgren, the strong aspect of the Oklahoma City Thunder’s title run, and Bueckers share a Minnesota connection.
Fans and players praise Bueckers’ determination and aggressive basketball strategies. The Wings are already out of playoff contention, but the Dallas rookie is expected to keep playing at a high level in their remaining eight games.
Paige Bueckers Shares Her Opinion On Mid-range Shooting

Bueckers is showing how powerful the mid-range jumper can be in today’s game. In her 44-point performance against the Sparks, she made eight shots from mid-range, which highlights her ability.
“I truly think basketball has gotten away from it — it’s mostly layups and threes,” she said. “Teams don’t know how to guard it. So I think it’s an advantage when you can score in the mid-range.”
She believes most teams don’t defend that area anymore. The modern game relies heavily on layups and three-pointers. Bueckers sees this as a chance to stand out. She says scoring from mid-range gives her an edge. Even stars like LeBron James and Kevin Durant agree.
Brittney Griner Finally Breaks Her Silence Over Alleged Caitlin Clark Comments That The WNBA Refused To Investigate
Brittney Griner (Photo via Twitter)
WNBA star Brittney Griner was at the center of a new debate over what she allegedly said in a game against basketball phenom Caitlin Clark.
The Atlanta Dream center found herself at the center of social media controversy last month when some fans thought she disparaged Indiana Fever star guard Caitlin Clark upon fouling out.
The game’s broadcast focused on an upset Griner saying something as she returned to the Dream bench after fouling out of the game. While there’s no audio of this moment, some who tried to read Griner’s lips thought she called Clark a “trash f–king white girl.”
However, there’s no proof of Griner saying those actual words since others thought she stated something else.
It took weeks for someone to finally get a quote from her, and she provided much of nothing.
Brittney Griner was asked about this moment before her team’s June 15 game against the Washington Mystics and said, “I remember fouling out, being mad. I remember fouling out on, I believe it was [Natasha] Howard driving to the basket. They said I put my hand in.”
This is the first time I’ve heard Brittney Griner speak! 🤨

Moments before the conclusion of the Indiana Fever’s 81-76 victory over the Dream at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta weeks ago, cameras seemingly caught Atlanta Dream star center Brittney Griner labeling Caitlin Clark “trash” before calling her a “f***ing white girl” in frustration over a foul on Natasha Howard.
The clip of Griner speaking on the bench, lacking context, spread on social media and went viral.
Griner, who won a gold medal for Team USA at the Summer Olympics in Paris in 2024, essentially got aw@y with whatever came out of her mouth because the league basically ignored the controversy.
This incident is not the only time Griner vocalized her frustrations this season. Following another game, she stormed off mid-interview, yelling at the referees to “be f—ing better.
