What is more challenging? Making a game-winner with a shot clock expiring or sitting on the sidelines watching the team perform on the hardwood? For Caitlin Clark, it’s watching her team play while she is on the sidelines, trying to control herself so that she does not enter the court.

The Fever rookie is out for 19 games now and missed 10 games in a row. After playing 185 consecutive games in the last five seasons of her basketball career, the star is feeling ‘weird’ for missing out. She explains the challenges she is facing while going through rehab.

Caitlin Clark Speaks About Toughest Challenges Of Her Injury-Filled Season

The 2024 top pick had been one of the consistent performers on the court. For Iowa, she featured in 139 games, and in her rookie season, she played all 46 games. With the team built around her, everyone was excited to see her thrive and rule the WNBA. But first, an injury hit her early in the season as she sat out five games in June.

After her return, she again suffered a quad injury, which kept her out for four more games. Now, the most devastating and concerning groin injury has forced her to miss 10 consecutive games. Talking about her condition and rehab in the ‘Bird’s Eye View’ Podcast, the Fever guard mentions different struggles she has been going through.

“It’s just been so challenging being active, playing four games, and then not. And then not feeling the best and then frustrated of how hard I worked in the offseason and all I do is rehab and continue to do this process. … I think that’s been the hardest part, the stop-and-go of everything,” Caitlin Clark told Sue Bird (Via X/YoItsRosie).

The 23-year-old guard worked hard on her strength following multiple physical plays on her during her rookie season. Her transformation went viral as the star significantly improved and built muscles. While fans were pumped up with her transformation, leg injuries shook everyone.

The star missed a total of 19 regular-season games out of 32. The side still holds a commanding 18-14 record and sits fifth in the league standings.

Caitlin Clark Highlights Worrying Sign About Her Injuries

Talking about her injury and struggles, the star even shared a primary concern going through her mind. The record-setting star mentioned that she wants to get back on the court and give herself the confidence to perform at the highest level. But there is still concern about the next day.

“Even when I have been back, I don’t know how I’m going to feel the next day after playing when you’re dealing with these types of injury,” Clark added in her explanation.

Her Indiana Fever teammate Sophie Cunningham also talked about a similar thing. She mentioned that the groin injury is bizarre, with the player not feeling pain all the time, but when it occurs, the athlete is out again.

CC is doing her best to support her teammates and provide her views and game readings from the sidelines. She is even having a good time with her teammates to keep herself positive and motivated for the return. But after injuries to Aari McDonald and Sydney Colson, the side needs her more than ever.
