There is no love lost between Sophie Cunningham and Jacy Sheldon.

Cunningham’s world changed dramatically the moment the Indiana Fever guard rocked Jacy Sheldon with a payback hit for taking a cheap shot at Caitlin Clark during a June 17 game against the Connecticut Sun.

Since the skirmish, Cunningham’s popularity has soared to unprecedented heights, turning her into a social media magnet and now an instant podcast star.

Cunningham, in her first season with the Fever after spending six seasons with the Phoenix Mercury, doesn’t duck from controversy.

So when one fan recently wanted an autograph from Cunningham, it came with a unique request.

Sophie Cunningham was surprised when the fan handed her a card of Sheldon’s to sign rather than one of her own. Once she saw the request, she could not contain her laughter.

The fan wanted Cunningham to sign the card “Property of:” before her name. And she happily obliged.

“She’s the problem,” Cunningham replied to the fan.

What Happened Between Sophie Cunningham And Jacy Sheldon?

Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham went viral this week over her recent troll job on Washington Mystics counterpart Jacy Sheldon.

Cunningham was doing an autograph signing along with teammate Lexie Hull when a fan asked Cunningham to sign a rookie card of Sheldon.

Cunningham and Sheldon have some obvious history. In June, a fight broke out when Sheldon was still a member of the Connecticut Sun.

In the original altercation, Sheldon drove toward the basket for a layup, and Cunningham wrapped her arms around the Sun guard’s neck and threw her down.

Sheldon immediately hopped up off the floor and charged toward Cunningham, but she grabbed her hair as others got involved.

Both players had to be separated and were ultimately ejected as a result of the play.
