Nia Long is still piping hot mad at the Boston Celtics and the unknown woman who ended her relationship with Ime Udoka.
Long has called out Ime Udoka’s alleged mistress and the Boston Celtics organization for their handling of her ex-fiancée Ime Udoka’s reported affair with Kathleen Lynch. Up until her post on Instagram this week, the public was largely unaware of the name of the woman.
On Tuesday, the legendary actress took to social media to blast the Celtics and Lynch, posting a video of a Black woman lecturing two Caucasian women about being “unmoved by white tears.”
“Where was this level of awareness a year ago @celtics ??? #kathleenlynch,” Long captioned the clip.
In September 2023, actress Nia Long publicly identified Kathleen Nimmo Lynch as the Boston Celtics employee with whom her ex-fiancé, Ime Udoka, had an affair. Long shared a clip from the We Can Do Hard Things podcast on Instagram, where host Yaba Blay discussed disparities in how society responds to the pain of white women versus Black women. In her caption, Long wrote, “Where was this level of awareness a year ago @celtics ??? #kathleenlynch,” directly naming Lynch and criticizing the Celtics for publicizing the affair while failing to protect her and her son’s privacy. The post highlighted Long’s frustration with the organization’s handling of the scandal, which led to Udoka’s suspension for the 2022-23 NBA season and the end of their 13-year relationship. Long and Udoka share an 11-year-old son, Kez, and she has spoken about the emotional toll the public exposure took on him.
No specific video or picture from the post is available in the provided context, but Long’s Instagram post included the podcast clip and her pointed caption. For further details, you can refer to coverage from sources like Black Enterprise or posts on X discussing the event.
This isn’t the first time Long has called out the NBA team following Udoka’s cheating scandal. She stated that the Celtics organization never reached out to check on her and her family after making the affair public.
“I think the most heartbreaking thing about all of this was seeing my son’s face when the Boston Celtics organization decided to make a very private situation public,” she shared during an interview with the Hollywood Reporter in December.
“It was devastating, and it still is. He still has moments where it’s not easy for him. If you’re in the business of protecting women — I’m sorry, no one from the Celtics organization has even called to see if I’m OK, to see if my children are OK. It’s very disappointing.”
Long’s former fiancée, Udoka, was suspended by the Boston Celtics after it was revealed he was involved in an affair with a Celtics staffer, alleged to be Lynch.
After news of Udoka’s infidelity went public, Long announced that she had broken off their engagement.
Udoka has since signed on to be the head coach of the Houston Rockets.

Discussing her recent surgery, she added: ‘I feel very grateful to have completely recovered.
‘I feel really good. I have a lot of people reaching out who have had the same thing.’
Davina McCall, 56, announced in November she’d been diagnosed with a colloid cyst, a rare type of benign brain tumour, and has supported Fearne.
She continued: ‘Everyone needs a Davina. She’s been amazing, weird that we had the same health thing going on at the same time. She’s so calming and we speak every day. She is just the best
It comes after Fearne has seemingly made another thinly-veiled dig at her ex-husband as she gushed that she is the happiest she’s ever been in a positive update.
Speaking to Scott Mills on his BBC Radio 2 breakfast show, Fearne gushed that she is ‘really happy’ and is ‘springing out of bed in the morning ready for life’.
Scott, who has known Fearne for 25 years, said he has never seen her ‘more positive or happier’, prompting Fearne to agree and reply: ‘Yeah I feel great!’
She told how her health scare has changed her outlook and said she has been seeking comfort from Davina.
