ESPN Sportscaster Malika Andrews Shares Her Love Of Diamonds

ESPN’s Malika Andrews made some waves on Instagram Monday.

Andrews, 30, has been at the Worldwide Leader since 2018. She began her career as a reporter covering the Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks before moving on to cover the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets. Later, Andrews became the network’s sideline reporter for NBA Finals coverage and also had the distinction of being the first woman to host the NBA Draft in 2022.

Now the host of NBA Today, you can usually see Andrews on television. However, she also shares content on social media, including a home photoshoot today.

Andrews got into the holiday spirit for St. Patrick’s Day, rocking a green dress with black shoes.

“Ran out of time at the studio to grab a shot of this look I loved! So, impromptu home photoshoot it is🍀💚,” Andrews captioned the post.

“You slay every day! 💚,” one person wrote.

“L

ove the new glasses,” another added.

“Happy St. Paddy’s day indeed!!” chimed in Andrews’ sister Kendra.

“Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world🌟💋🙌🔥😈❤️,” a fourth person wrote.

“Spectacular ❤️❤️❤️❤️,” a fifth person said.

Last summer, Andrews wed her longtime boyfriend, fellow ESPN reporter Dave McMenamin.

On a recent episode of WNBA star Cameron Brink’s podcast, Andrews revealed that she and McMenamin have been together since 2018 but chose to keep much of their relationship out of the public eye.

“Anyone who knows us, we’ve known each other socially. It wasn’t a secret. I always like to sort of delineate between private and secret. We are private,” Andrews explained. “Anybody who knew us, even a fan in the arena, you could see us walking down the street together, we would walk into arenas together. So if you observed us in person you would know, but it wasn’t something that was a secret. It was private [as in] we didn’t post it on social media. That was sort of the line that we made. I wore my big sparkly ring… and it was just not something that it was like, ‘here are my proposal photos,’ not that there’s anything wrong with that.”

On the work front, Andrews’ contract at ESPN expires after the NBA season, so it will be interesting to see if the company looks to keep her around.

At family dinner, my mother-in-law suddenly screamed that her $10,000 was missing. Before I could react, my sister-in-law pointed straight at me. “It was her! I saw her sneaking into Mom’s room!” she shouted. In an instant, my MIL grabbed a baseball bat and ordered me to confess. “I didn’t take—” I tried to explain, but the bat was already swinging—aimed directly at me and my 4-year-old daughter. Instinct kicked in; I wrapped my arms around her as my MIL roared, “Where’s my money?!” At that exact moment, the front door slammed open—my husband had just walked in.

When the door swung open, I thought I had simply come home a little early. But then everything collapsed around me: my mother lay on the floor, blood seeping from the corner of her mouth… and the phone beside her showed only one final message—my father on a yacht, hand in hand with a woman I had never seen before. In that moment, I understood that the secrets in my family were far darker than anything I had ever imagined.

In front of 52 family members, my mom held up her glass, gestured to my sister, and said proudly, “This is the daughter who’s always been there for us. The other one? She’s never done anything.” I stayed silent. No one knew that I was the daughter who’d been paying their mortgage and bills for nearly a decade. So I simply smiled, set my drink down, and walked out of the reunion. The next morning, my phone screen lit up—38 missed calls waiting for me.

The Burtons’ annual family reunion was always loud, chaotic, and soaked in cheap champagne, but…
