The WNBA hardly cheats fans when it comes to drama nowadays, with Sophie Cunningham and Jacy Sheldon providing some of the most notable this week after getting into a shocking fight.
Both players were ejected from Tuesday night’s Sun-Fever clash after throwing hands and pulling hair. Their scuffle came after Sheldon was involved in another ugly incident featuring Caitlin Clark in which the Fever star was poked in the eye and knocked to the floor.
While Sophie may have had revenge on her mind where her teammate was concerned, a tweet from NBA Centel claiming the fight stemmed from something even more personal has been going viral online.
“Jacy Sheldon reportedly liked a photo of Sophie Cunningham’s ex-boyfriend on Instagram which led to their altercation last night,” the parody account shared on Wednesday, earning well over 400 views and lots of comments.

It appears lots of users got Centel’d, which happens to be a thing now.
“The WNBA is more of a soap opera than a basketball league 😭😭,” one wrote in the comments.
“WNBA must have hired a few WWE script writers. I may need to tune-in to more games if this keeps up😄,” another shared.
“They were a cute couple,” one account pointed out.
“At the end of the day, Jacy needs to keep her hands to herself,” said another.
“Jacy liked a pic and got the fade subscription activated,” a user claimed.
“Calling the bulls**t flag on this one,” one fan wrote, clearly not getting it.
Most of what Centel posts is fake, but their tweets have even made it to mainstream media, much to the embarrassment of a few big-name analysts who used them as a source.
