Turns out, even football talk needs a change of scenery. Peter Schrager, one of the most recognizable voices in NFL media, just pulled back the curtain on why he left Good Morning Football and jumped ship from NFL Network to ESPN.
It wasn’t just a contract ending or a better deal, it was something deeper. Creative burnout. A cross-country move. And the feeling that it was simply time.
Now with a fresh multi-year deal at ESPN, Schrager is gearing up for his next act, and he’s bringing that same crazy energy fans know him for.

Speaking on the SI Media with Jimmy Traina podcast, Schrager got real about his decision, and he didn’t shy away from elaborating on it.
“For me, once they moved the show to L.A., I had a year left on my contract and I started plotting my next step,” Schrager said. “I don’t have anything left to give that show.”
Schrager loved Good Morning Football. He made that clear. He helped build it. But after years of early mornings and whiteboard predictions, the grind started to wear on him.
“I couldn’t do another ‘Whiteboard Wednesday,’” he admitted. “I couldn’t do another remote segment where we’re interviewing the same whatever-it-is, another year.”
The move from New York to Los Angeles didn’t help either. For Schrager, that shift marked the end of the chapter.
“Once they moved it to L.A., that to me was the future on the wall,” he said.
Now, ESPN plans to use Schrager across top shows like Get Up and First Take. According to ESPN President of Content Burke Magnus, the move’s a win.
“Peter will have an instant impact at ESPN,” Magnus said. “His versatility is an asset and will be on display across our shows and platforms.”
Fans are excited to see Schrager bring his sharp football mind, and that signature charisma, to new territory. But many still feel the pain of him leaving NFL Network.
“I love that show. I root for it. In fact, I still watch it in the mornings when I’m flipping around,” he said. “ I just felt like, creatively, it was time, and my contract was up.”
Schrager isn’t looking back. He’s just ready for what’s next.
Brittney Griner Finally Breaks Her Silence Over Alleged Caitlin Clark Comments That The WNBA Refused To Investigate
Brittney Griner (Photo via Twitter)
WNBA star Brittney Griner was at the center of a new debate over what she allegedly said in a game against basketball phenom Caitlin Clark.
The Atlanta Dream center found herself at the center of social media controversy last month when some fans thought she disparaged Indiana Fever star guard Caitlin Clark upon fouling out.
The game’s broadcast focused on an upset Griner saying something as she returned to the Dream bench after fouling out of the game. While there’s no audio of this moment, some who tried to read Griner’s lips thought she called Clark a “trash f–king white girl.”
However, there’s no proof of Griner saying those actual words since others thought she stated something else.
It took weeks for someone to finally get a quote from her, and she provided much of nothing.
Brittney Griner was asked about this moment before her team’s June 15 game against the Washington Mystics and said, “I remember fouling out, being mad. I remember fouling out on, I believe it was [Natasha] Howard driving to the basket. They said I put my hand in.”
This is the first time I’ve heard Brittney Griner speak! 🤨

Moments before the conclusion of the Indiana Fever’s 81-76 victory over the Dream at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta weeks ago, cameras seemingly caught Atlanta Dream star center Brittney Griner labeling Caitlin Clark “trash” before calling her a “f***ing white girl” in frustration over a foul on Natasha Howard.
The clip of Griner speaking on the bench, lacking context, spread on social media and went viral.
Griner, who won a gold medal for Team USA at the Summer Olympics in Paris in 2024, essentially got aw@y with whatever came out of her mouth because the league basically ignored the controversy.
This incident is not the only time Griner vocalized her frustrations this season. Following another game, she stormed off mid-interview, yelling at the referees to “be f—ing better.
