Strahan’s future with Good Morning America has been uncertain for some time
There had been rumors earlier this year that he would be quitting.
He revealed he wanted to spend more time with his family and friends.
There was claims he would be going in the summer of 2025.
However, the US Sun understands he had not made a call over his plans at the time.
But according to Max Tani of Semafor, Strahan is now close to a new deal with GMA.
That will keep him on the morning show for the foreseeable future.
It will be an extension to a contract that was set to run out later this year.
The NFL legend is expected to lessen his workload in the process.
At present he works five mornings a week, Monday to Friday.
For nearly a decade, he has flown across the country from New York to Los Angeles every week.

Michael Strahan’s NFL career
Michael Strahan is one of the most recognizable faces on television.

Strahan spent 14 years all with the New York Giants from 1993 to 2007.
He was a seven-time Pro Bowler and helped them win the Super Bowl in 2007 – ending the New England Patriots’ hopes of a perfect season.
Strahan was also a two-time NFL sacks leader and also won Defensive Player of the Year.
The ex-Giants star set the single-season sack record with 22.5 in 2001 – a feat which was matched by J.J. Watt exactly 20 years later.
He is one of the best defensive stars to have ever played the game – finishing with 141.5 career sacks and 854 tackles.
Since he hung up his cleats in 2007, Strahan has had both huge shows on the go.
He has also been the presenter of game shows and even had movie cameos.
Strahan also competed on hit show Dancing with the Stars.
News of his latest Good Morning America contract broke on social media on Monday.
He is well loved in the role, with many already demanding he stay.
“We love Michael on GMA,” he said.
Another added: “Hopefully he stays!”
